Heart position: Devotional day 2

In the silence of the dawn your heartbeat is as loud as a drum. A place where you think, feel & make decisions , the heart is like the brain to the body or the soul to the spirit, without it things won’t work. Your heart is a sanctuary for the Lord to dwell in depending on if you let him in, the enemy also tries to gain access to your heart and that is why you need to be vigilant and alert to the seeds that are being sown in your heart through words, actions or decisions of your own or even others.

Proverbs 4:23 “keep your heart with all diligence;for out of it are the issues of life” Are you being a keeper of your own heart? Guarding it diligently? Making sure that whatever you let into the gates of your heart have a right to be there? Are you double checking what dwells in your heart? That is your responsibility.

The heart is a place of feelings, faith, thoughts, and decisions.. it’s a place where seeds are planted both good or bad, you are the farmer of your land, you get to choose what seeds (thoughts) to water, what decisions to make and you have all the power to uproot negative seeds. The enemy would love for you to mix your feelings with your faith, filling your heart with temporary desires and keeping you distracted, his mission is to kill your faith and he does that by throwing lies at you, keeping you bound in sin that hinders you from walking in the full purpose and plan God has for you.

What thoughts are you dwelling on? What decision are you about to make? Your choices don’t just affect you but everyone who is connected to you and your purpose. Your thoughts can build your faith or make you doubt. Your heart should constantly be positioned at the feet of God, through that every other area of your life is aligned accordingly but it takes the first step of laying it all at his feet in order to allow him to reorder what was out of place.

It’s easy to loose focus and dwell on things that steal your joy and peace, it’s easy to think about every wrong decision you have made and feel discouraged but it’s not worth it, it’s not even God’s plan for your life, he sent his son Jesus for you*John 3:16 and has forgiven you*Mathew 1:21 and now he calls you his own*John 10:14, stop dwelling on those seeds of the past that produced a rotten harvest, it’s a new day, a new beginning.

It’s time to store up on the word of God and keep His laws through your obedience to Him*Psalms 119:9, it’s time to be a worshiping warrior, it’s time to relocate to the land of peace. But it all begins by making the right choices that will lead you in the right direction, let go of those bad habits, Repent from that sin, start being the person you were created to be and that begins by letting Jesus in!

You may have thought that your purpose for your life is better than what God has for you, but that’s not true Isaiah 55:8-9 says “for my thoughts are not your thoughts neither are your ways my ways says the Lord”

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts”

He has greater, bigger and better plans for your life and it looks nothing like your own. He has the blueprint for your life, you just have the microscopic view that’s drafted in black & white with with a font that’s hard to read. Let God fulfill his purpose in your life. It starts with the surrender of your heart.

Make new goals for 2019,let this year be different, progressive, and vision filled, ultimately let your heart be pure before the Lord, allow Him to write His plans for you on the tablet of your heart daily, let Him be the keeper of your heart.. because He will gaurd it with love.

Prayer

Lord, I thank you for the reminder that my ways are not your ways and your plans for me are greater than my own, help me remember that my life is in your hands, and that you are in control, teach me to trust you and be faithful to you with my life, work on me internally and let your glory shine externally, mold me for you are the Potter and I am just the clay. Today I lay my heart before you releasing every burden and I take on your yoke that is easy and your peace that is refreshing, inscribe your plans for me on my heart and may you continue to guide and lead me, be exalted through it all.

In Jesus name, amen.
